Taekwondo is the fastest growing Martial Art in the world today and one of the most lethal. The style of Taekwondo practiced throughout our clubs is in line with the Korean and WTF standards - this is the style of Taekwondo which will be used in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Dewsbury TKD can provide every opportunity for its members whatever their ability, at all levels of practice. The organization operates around the five Tenets of Taekwondo: Etiquette, Modesty, Perseverance, Self Control, and Indomitable Spirit. Donna sees this as essential to being successful in Taekwondo. The club is open Mondays 6.00 to 7.30 and Thursdays from 6.45 to 8.15 at Dewsbury Sport Centre - and there are other Classes held at Hilltop Ladies Gym Gomersal throughout the week; including weekends.
The club has a distinct family focus which helps to make it more friendly and allows it to stand out from most other clubs in the area. Mums, Dads, and their children are actively encouraged to train together. This approach works well for us.
Tae Kwon Do is a martial arts activity, which can help relieve tension and stress while improving balance, discipline and coordination. It can be an excellent confidence builder in enabling the idea that you can defend yourself if needed. Tae Kwon Do was developed in Korea more than 2,000 years ago. Though similar to karate, this martial art focuses on using the feet and kick-fighting instead of using the hands.
